Mobile clinics were the starting point of Chreso Ministries and date back over 30 years. In the beginning, simple medical help was offered. For example, wound care, simple pain treatment, and later vaccinations were added, especially for children. The offer of Mobile Clinics has been very well received and Chreso Ministries offers Mobile Clinic consultations at various locations, also called "Community Posts", on specific days. For this purpose, transport vehicles (e.g. disused ambulances that were donated) are brought to the respective "Posts" with staff and medicines. Nurses, midwives and nutritionists work together to help the many people. Often up to 200 people, mostly mothers with their children, come to the collection points of the "Community Posts" on such a day.
Over the years, the services offered have expanded considerably. HIV tests are offered and if patients test positive they are referred to the ART Center (Anti-Retroviral-Therapy) of Chreso Ministries and treated with anti-HIV drugs free of charge. Treatment is provided according to WHO standards.
In addition to HIV/AIDS treatment, the mobile clinics offer prenatal care. Regular training courses on pregnancy, childbirth, hygiene and child nutrition are also offered as part of the mobile clinic. These offers are particularly well received.
Another area of work is the so-called "under-five-clinic" which takes care of children between 0 and 5 years of age. Here, the necessary vaccinations are given, i.e. a complete vaccination program is carried out. The children are examined for nutritional deficiencies and especially for needy children, nutritional supplements are given to the mothers.
Mobile clinics are an excellent way to bring the minimum possible medical standards to these people. The way to the patient is important here because due to the great distances and the lack of transportation, it would hardly be possible to take advantage of these regular services.
